The 1940’s, 50’s, and 60’s could be considered the production peak of classic Chevrolet vehicles reminiscent of Dr. No, the first James Bond movie, who drove a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. Chevrolet’s have always been built to last with admirable looks and efficient engines. Chevrolet has grown with the times and the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt is an all-electric vehicle built to compete with the best of them. If you missed our in-depth look into the Bolt, check it out here. We have created several videos about the Bolt and want to highlight the notable and modern features in this blog.

2017 Chevrolet Bolt Design

With chrome trim, finely tuned aerodynamics, and a 10.2-inch touchscreen display, the design features give the Bolt a bold attitude.

Since the battery is all-electric and requires no air for combustion, the underbody is closed and flat, which streamlines airflow and enhances the vehicle’s aerodynamics.

The 10.2-inch display screen has never been seen in a Chevrolet before. It features Apple Play, displays select apps from your compatible phone, and has a customizable layout.

2017 Chevrolet Bolt Technology

The 10.2-inch color display features stats about the vehicle’s charge and battery, Chevy’s MyLink Navigation, Sirius XM Radio, and much more.

The Bolt is also equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, 4G LTE Wi-Fi that connects up to 7 devices, and a wireless charging slot for compatible phones.

2017 Chevrolet Bolt Battery Technology

The Bolt is the first Chevrolet vehicle to be exclusively powered by a battery, which is a 60-kilowatt lithium-ion battery that offers 238 miles of range when fully charged.

When paired with the electric drive unit, the vehicle offers 200 horsepower with 266 pounds of torque.

One-pedal driving and Regen On Demand are two features that can be used while driving to convert energy into electricity that goes back into the battery and can add to your range.

2017 Chevrolet Bolt Charging Options

There are three charging options for the Bolt. You can plug in the Bolt to any standard outlet with a 120-volt charger. This is recommended for topping off battery power when you’re at home. Just like you plug your phone in overnight, plug your Bolt in overnight for a full battery in the morning, depending on how charged battery is at time of plug-in.

The DC-Fast Charging option is a 240-volt charger that requires professional installation. It is the fastest way to charge at home and can provide a 0 to a fully charged battery overnight.

Chevy’s Super Fast charging option is a public DC-Fast Charging station that offers rapid charge times for additional costs.
