The Chevrolet Corvette has always been the leader in the muscle car category. Soon it will be rocketing forward into uncharted territory, as the Corvette Z06 becomes the first Chevy vehicle equipped with Apple CarPlay.
Apple CarPlay was first launched in March of 2014. Until recently, the only vehicle hitting the pavement with this built-in technology was the Ferrari FF, which is not a typical purchase of the everyday buyer. All that is about to change with Apple’s announcement to equip 14 of Chevy’s models in 2016. Other models include the Tahoe, Suburban, Volt, Spark, Malibu, Camaro, Silverado, and Impala. Many models will also receive Android Auto compatibility.
Apple CarPlay features Siri voice control and is specially designed for driving scenarios. You can also control using your vehicle’s buttons or touchscreen. The apps you would use for these scenarios have been made over to be more accessible to the driver, so you can keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
Keeping you up to speed with the trends in the auto industry is just one of Bachman Chevrolet’s jobs.
