In this video, we will be taking a more detailed look at the LT1 engine found in the 2016 Chevy Camaro. The new engine found in the 2016 Chevy Camaro may sound familiar to you Chevy enthusiasts.
THE CHEVY CAMARO LT1 ENGINE
This LT1 engine is almost the exact same engine as found in the 2016 Corvette Stingray. Only about 20% components differ, including a new exhaust manifold.
This engine was first introduced on the seventh-generation Corvette Stingray and pays homage to the legacy of the small-block engine. It provides your project vehicle a high-tech transplant with an outstanding balance of performance and efficiency.
The LT1 is architecturally similar to the LS family of small-block engines, but with a unique block casting, cylinder head design, oiling system, and more. It also combines advanced technologies including Direct Injection and continuously Variable Valve Timing to support an advanced combustion system.
THE STATS OF THE CHEVROLET CAMARO LT1 ENGINE
The LT1 V8 catapults the automatic Camaro SS from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds flat! With 455 horsepower and 455 pound feet of torc with direct injection, variable valve timing, and active fuel management, its efficiency is just as impressive.
