The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray recently earned high marks from U.S. News & World Report in its Luxury Sports Cars rankings. The flashy Chevy, built in Bowling Green, ranked No. 2 overall and was the only American model in the Top 10.
In its report, USN&WR said that test drivers and reviewers raved about the Stingray, saying it combined athletic handling with a comfortable ride.
Here’s what some of those reviewers had to say:
“Whether you’re on a long trip and getting 29 miles per gallon, blasting up a mountain road, or even heading to the golf course with a couple of bags in back, the C7 offers a world-class driving experience.” – AutoTrader
“There just aren’t any weaknesses in this motor, and the new eight-speed automatic actually amplifies its performance, upshifting so quickly that accelerating through the gears feels like a single seamless surge.” – Edmunds
The magazine based its ratings not just on what reviewers had to say, but on how it performed in other tests as well, and the Stingray earned high marks for reliability and performance.
“Whether you choose the standard Stingray or the high-performance Z06, test drivers are blown away by the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette’s incredible acceleration, agile handling and ride comfort,” U.S. News said.
Starting at $55,000 the Stingray also is more affordable than many of its European peers. It comes with 6.2-liter V8, with an option for a supercharged engine. In addition to the seven-speed manual transmission, buyers can get an eight-speed automatic transmission.
